jury's still out |
two weeks have passed since last we spoke. a fortnite, in the parlance of our youth. actually in the parlance of our elders as well although they spelled it differently no doubt. as always, don't force it. not everything's for you.
where you stand, the filter. if i have not named you, go no further (right): art. today, as it turns out, we're speaking to those who probably don't feel like they need to be spoken to. art is alchemy, the divine synthesis, the correct proportions. you have dissolved and mixed what could not be combined in its solid state and sustained yourself with that mixture. the temperature of your soul and your surroundings are the same. contradictions are no problem; you're a vessel vast enough to house any number of dilemmas without being torn by them. the other is familiar to you without losing its unique properties, and you can be permeated without fear of the loss of self. so hey, good for you.
unimportant (right): eight of disks. prudence. one of my favorites, actually. slow growth. time as an ally, caution as a friend. forget that shit. whatever is growing does not need protection. you're a vital source from which things flourish in abundance with no oversight, or you're in the magnum opus, no further refinement needed (lucky you, you'd be the first). either way, don't make concessions for caution when they would force you off your path. duck under the caution tape; you know what you're doing.
important (top): three of swords. sorrow. ah. not the magnum opus then. i thought not. the blade of thought piercing the flower. clarity as a pang in the heart. the light strikes on a long-unseen crack in the cup you've been drinking from for years. months of little glittering shards of pain in your mouth. sober up. resting in a state of balance means the only meaningful thing that can happen is a tilt. if you've got everything, you've got everything to lose. you know what's at stake here. don't lie.
because (bottom): princess of swords. it's time to get back on your feet. let clarity, opinion and principle move you. if not those, use anger and fear. make swift, cold decisions, amend them later. test yourself and your ideas against others to find your breaking points, then stay flexible so you can retreat and mend them. don't flee from a duel but don't strike to kill: you've forgotten your own sharpness and your own fragility all at the same time.
quintessence: catalogue yourself. don't lose sight of the individual qualities that make up the whole. keep an eye on which ones threatened to grow out of proportion, and cut them down to size or build up others to maintain a balance. you are responsible for yourself whether you act like it or not.
